Why Is It So Expensive – My Real Realtor Prespective

🏡 REAL REALTOR PERSPECTIVE

“WHY IS IT SO EXPENSIVE?”

I hear this question all the time. And you know what? I ask it myself!

Why does it cost so much to buy a house? Why are interest rates, closing costs, appraisals, insurance, and everything associated with buying a home so expensive?

But let’s think beyond real estate for a minute.

Why does it cost so much to buy a car? To take a family vacation? To buy a new shirt? Or just to walk out of the grocery store with a few bags of groceries?

The cost of LIVING is expensive. Period.

For 75 years, Redd, Brown & Williams has been part of the Eastern Kentucky real estate market. Think about how much life has changed in those 75 years!

The price of homes, cars, groceries, clothing, utilities, and nearly everything else has increased dramatically. Not just here in Eastern Kentucky, but across the country and around the world.

And while incomes have increased over the decades, that doesn’t mean everything has become easier to afford.

In fact, for many families, it feels harder than ever.

Here’s something we don’t talk about enough in real estate.

Just because you can qualify to BUY a house doesn’t necessarily mean you can comfortably afford to LIVE in that house.

There’s a difference.

Your mortgage payment is only part of the picture.

You still have electricity, water, insurance, taxes, groceries, car payments, gas, repairs, maintenance, and hopefully a little money left over to actually ENJOY your life!

So instead of spending all our time asking…

WHY is everything so expensive?

What if we started asking…

💚 HOW can we make this work?

HOW much house can I comfortably afford?

HOW can I prepare financially before buying?

HOW can I reduce my upfront expenses?

HOW can I find a home that fits my lifestyle AND my budget?

HOW can I buy a home without stretching myself so thin that I can’t enjoy living in it?

Sometimes the answer is looking at a different price range. Sometimes it’s exploring financing options, negotiating seller-paid closing costs, considering a different location, or simply taking a little more time to prepare.

And sometimes the answer is that now isn’t the right time to buy. That’s okay, too.

That’s where having the RIGHT Realtor matters.

I don’t want to just open doors, write contracts, and hand over keys.

I want to sit down with you. I want to understand your WHY, and then I want to help you figure out your HOW.

I want to understand what you need, what you can afford, what you’re comfortable spending, and what homeownership will realistically look like for you.

Because my goal isn’t simply to SELL you a house.

My goal is to help you find a home where you can be HAPPY, COMFORTABLE, and FINANCIALLY CONFIDENT.

And yes, I want you to refer me to your friends and family!

Not because I sold you a house.

But because you know I took the time to listen, explain, educate, and help you make a decision that was right for YOU.

After 20+ years in real estate, I still believe that’s what this business should be about.

The cost of living isn’t going to magically go back to what it was 75 years ago. And I can’t promise that buying a home will be easy.

But I CAN promise to help you ask the right questions, explore your options, and make informed decisions.

Let’s stop focusing only on the WHY and start working on the HOW.

Because real estate should be about more than making a sale.

It should be about helping people build a life they can actually afford to enjoy. 💚
